Eastern Coastal Walk
Sydney, Australia

After a wonderful, but rainy weekend with John & Johanna... Monday morning the sun came out to play so rather than venturing into downtown Sydney... we opted to walk the Eastern Beaches Coast Path from Bondi beach all the way to the small town of Coogee which also has a fantastic beach cove.

The walk itself is around 15km round trip but provides lots of entertainment along the way. Not only did we see spiders and creatures that amused Mark to no end,... but we also happened upon a game of lawn bowling which we later discovered was the ladies of Scotland playing the grand dames of Aussie.

0311:

The walk also passes through an old cemetery with stunning views, (A fabulous final resting place to be sure) not to mention a bunch of smaller beaches including one that was all decked out to allow folks with disabilities to take a dip in the Oceans waters.... something we found very impressive!

Once we arrived at Coogee beach, we played for hours in the terrific surf that lapped the shore.  What a glorious place to soak up the sun while wallowing in factor 30. Though we think it's amazing just how sticky their sand is when you're coated in UV filtering gunk. Time for a spot of honesty... Mark didn't burn too badly, he took note of the "slip..slap...slop" warnings that they have everywhere telling of the dangers of the sun without slapping on suncream, slipping on a t-shirt and popping on a sun hat.

Heide of course just browned. Even when life is this good some things are unfair!
