KLM is Paging Arriving Amsterdam Passenger...
Oslo, Norway

Somehow we knew that when there was an announcement in the baggage hall of Oslo international airport that is was going to be for us. Sure enough, it was for Mark. KLM had left our luggage in Amsterdam and was kind enough to let us know before all the luggage had all been put on the baggage belt and we were the last two people surrounding the carrousel. They wouldn't give us cash for our inconvenience, but we were awarded two very fine airline wash kits complete with "typically Dutch"... licorice toothpaste. Good thing we took the camera out of the rucksack! Still, I was not thrilled about the prospect of wearing my work clothes for more than the hour I was planning it would take to get to the hostel, but KLM promised that our bag would be delivered first thing in the morning...

0059:

From the airport we made our way via the express train into Oslo and it confirmed what I saw as we flew in. Oslo looks quite similar to Seattle!! It make so much sense that so many Norwegians would settle in the Pacific Northwest, or Minnesota for that matter as it surely must have reminded them of home! This is Mark's first trip to Norway,... and I was 11 when I last visited, so I look forward to seeing things with a more mature perspective.
