Language Struggles

The most hysterical thing happened at our Dutch lesson this evening. Our instructor had asked us to prepare a brief paragraph in Dutch about ourselves. "My name is... I'm from..." etc. Well, my paragraph was relatively simple and straight forward. Mark, on the other hand, has a little translator tool at work that allows him to play around with some of his sentences and get creative! On this particular day, he had been using that tool quite a bit.
He was reading his paragraph to our instructor and at the end of it she just cracked up hysterically laughing. What Mark had been trying to say is that his favorite food is junk food,... but something was lost in the translation and what he said was, "I like eating out of garbage cans!"
