Peeps!! Seeing that we are so close to the UK (relatively)... it just seems to make sense that we try to get back to see family and friends as often as possible. So, for the last few weeks... I searched the airfares for good prices back to Birmingham and the best I could find was almost 500 euros for the two of us! That was outrageous!! But, Mark's dad had a plan... a new budget airline had recently launched with a home base of Birmingham... and sure enough, they had cheap airfares available from Amsterdam to Birmingham. We paid about EUR175 for the two of us... much, much better! :-)
We have really enjoyed our visit and especially seeing our niece, Eloise. She has changed so much since Christmas!! The family has taken to calling her the "Tiny Tornado" because she has become quick on her feet... and her vocabulary in getting larger every day! "Bad Dog, Cassie" and " No" have been frequently heard this weekend. She's much more little girl now than a baby now! Apparently she loves grapes (which she calls "peeps!"... and Mark caught her stealing some from Grandma's kitchen table... what a great photo! We also saw Dave and Ben (Mark's God son) ... Ben's already 3 and is getting big!
I think Sunday dinner was the high light of our visit. Everyone came round, except for Clare who is still, unfortunately, in Iraq. Roast beef with all the fixings was on the menu (A dream meal for Mark who misses a good piece of meat -- it's just too expensive in Holland!) finished off with a Trifle... yummy! My favorite!
