All About Heide

After typing up "About Mark," Heide’s not exactly sure what to write about herself. I’m much, much younger than Mark (currently 29)… contrary to his belief that we are the same age. (He’s a cradle robber!!!) I can’t believe that we’ve been married for almost 3 years and I’m still putting up with his silly jokes and goofy humor. If nothing else, he has kept me laughing along the way.

Originally a Seattleite, I am a definite coffee-snob. I love Starbucks… and even enjoy a nice, rainy afternoon. (They are great for sitting indoors reading or watching movies!) However, I haven’t had many of these, as we’ve pretty much lived outside of Seattle for the last 5 years. Montana, Boston, and LA have all been home before making the big move to the Netherlands. One day, we hope to find a place to set down some roots. (Who knows when that might be?!)

I’ve always been a person that loves to travel. I took a wonderful 3 month road-trip around the states with my best friend the summer after I completed college… and it was on that trip that I met Mark. (He was on a 7 month RTW trip!) I knew that at the point there would come a day when I too would take a trip around the world… I never would have imagined that it would have been WITH Mark but I’m delighted that he is my travel companion on this great adventure. He is my best friend a perfect travel partner.

I hope you can follow along with us on this journey. My entries will be the boring sensible ones while Mark’s will be the fun, silly ones… but that’s okay... it’s why (and how!) we balance each other out… and what really makes this trip possible.
